Here's the pattern we see over and over, in new projects and in ones already half built. Too much goes in at once. Months go into features nobody needed, and the one feature that mattered still doesn't work.
Before we build anything, we'll tell you things like:
- "Build this first. It's the part that proves it's worth doing."
- "Leave that out for now. It's expensive, and you won't miss it in version one."
- "You haven't mentioned analytics. Without them, you won't know what to fix next."
- "This part works. Keep it. This part is why you get a different answer every time."
Commercial Roofer, a firm that advises roofing companies across the US, wanted a full software platform. We told them which parts could wait. They had 20 paying users, and proof the business case worked, without them.
